After distributing iPads to special education teachers earlier this month, I am excited to see that they are being well used throughout the district. Based on a self-assessment survey that was sent out, we are seeing that overall teachers are feeling comfortable with using this tool. Despite an overwhelmingly positive response, I still see a need for some training and support in making the iPad part of their lessons. According to the self-assessment, teachers are using the iPad to aid in providing both student remediation and incentives, while staff is getting increasingly better at keeping data, providing content and assistive tools to students.
Among the most popular Apps used by our staff are Story Kit, Dragon, ABC Tracer, Splash Math, Google Earth, Skitch and ABA Flash Cards.
Congratulations on all the great work the educators are doing with this new and powerful tool.
This was a really helpful list of apps. I downloaded some today.
